Neil Young’s classic album ‘Harvest’ hardly needs an introduction. Featuring his unique blend of burnished country-folk, and raw rock n roll, ‘Harvest’ is full of timeless songs like ‘Heart of Gold’, ‘Old Man’, ‘Needle and the Damage Done', ‘Alabama’, and more. It’s incredible to think that Neil was only 26 years old when the album was released. Even the album cover itself conjures the halcyon days of the classic rock era – that famous cursive font scrawled over the aged cardboard sleeve – everything about ‘Harvest’ is effortlessly perfect.
The Honey Sliders will perform ‘Harvest’ in its entirety, plus a long second set of their favourite Neil Young tunes in front of a huge screen, displaying visuals that will make you feel like you’ve been transported back to 1972! The Honey Sliders are Danny Widdicombe on guitar, vocals (Bernard Fanning, Tim Rogers, Emily Wurramara, The Go-Betweens), Bos Borley on bass (Bernard Fanning, The Resin Dogs), Dan Mansfield on keys, guitar, vocals (You Am I, The Gin Club), and Ben Carstens on drums, vocals (Mexico City). For this show, they’ve enlisted the help of Dana Gehrman on harmonica, banjo and vocals (Rockwiz), and Michel Rose on pedal steel (Slim Dusty, John Williamson).
This is a show not to be missed... one of the world’s favourite albums, played by a band of professional musicians who are passionate about paying homage to this music that changed their lives.
