EVENT INFORMATION

With Busby Marou's fifth studio album Blood Red set for release on July 21, the boys have announced a stacked national album tour with 15 dates across the country.

Joining Busby Marou for the Anita's show is rising star, Brisbane based singer-songwriter Jem Cassar-Daley.

Busby Marou's fifth album is gearing up to be their best release yet with singles “Conversation”, "Crazy Like That", "Where I Wanna Be" & "Everything is Beautiful" being just a taste of the beautiful body of work to come. Blood Red will be he boys' first full-length project since 2019's highly successful The Great Divide.

Tom Busby and Jeremy Marou refer to the sound of their fifth album as their “bread and butter", “Tom and I, acoustic guitars with vocal harmonies,” explains Marou. “But on Blood Red, there’s an extra ingredient: ambition.” Adds Busby

He’s not talking about building on the Rockhampton duo’s already staggering success – three Top 5 albums (including 2017’s Postcards from the Shell House, which debuted at Number 1 on the ARIA Charts), four APRA Awards and a swag of APRA and ARIA nominations. Instead, he’s referring to creative ambition, with the pair determined to embrace both the experience they’ve gained over their career and the maturity they’ve found in their personal lives to create an album that reflects their true musical selves.

It sums up a 15-year music career,” says Marou. “We’ve gone from being green and not quite ready to knowing what we want we want and co-producing this album.” “The main reason we’re still here is because we’ve always stuck to our songwriting method, which is just a couple of blokes with two guitars and melodies telling stories,” adds Busby. “We haven’t overthought it. This time in particular, we backed ourselves

Busby Marou have gained the reputation as one of Australia’s hardest working live bands best known for their distinctly Australian storytelling and gifted musicianship. On stage, a key element is the intertwining of vocal interplay of two lifelong mates. 2023 is gearing up to be a huge year for the duo. “We can't wait to give the world Blood Red and share these songs with you live.
